Students will recognize new high-frequency words: during, heard, lion, and winter. Finally, students will identify naming words (common nouns) that name people, places, and things.
** Good things to Know:Students should remember when they come to a word that they do not know they should look carefully at the word. Look for word parts they know and think about the sounds of the letters and blend the sounds to read the word. They should also ask themselves : Is it a word I know? Does it make sense in what I am reading? If not, ask yourself: What else can I try?
